Parenting time

The period a child spends under the care of a parent after separation or divorce. This includes time even when the child is not physically present with the parent. The term “parenting time” has replaced “custody and access” to highlight the child’s relationship with each parent rather than implying possession. Parenting time arrangements are designed with the child’s best interests in mind, taking into account factors such as the child’s needs, the parents’ work schedules, and other relevant circumstances.
