Child support guidelines

Regulations appended to legislation that determine child support payment amounts when parents separate or divorce. The Federal Child Support Guidelines apply in cases involving divorce under the Divorce Act, while provincial or territorial guidelines, such as the Ontario Family Law Act, apply when there is no divorce application or the parents were never married.
